Larger size is too short

I ordered this in a size 10 for my 9 year old thinking it would be a little bit big for now. When she tried it on it was very wide but not long enough. The picture shows the dress covering the knees, but in the size 10 it is a couple inches above my daughter’s knees and she’s average height for her age. It makes her look like she’s wearing an oversized costume with the wide top, high waistline and short skirt.

Very pretty dress, I hate that it isn’t lined and I don’t like the velour material. It also tears very easily. We have had to sew up the arms over and over because holes keep showing up. Other than that the skirt portion is nice and fluffy.
