I love these shorts but granddaughter won’t wear

They are making them with and elastic banding, usually found in shape wear, at the bottom hem and pinches her legs and is very bulky at the inner seam on the inner leg and she feels it and says it hurts. I have washed them three times but it didn’t help. P
